Welcome to Hesed and Hearth! I have been wanting to start a Christian blog for a while, but before I begin the blogging, I wanted to dedicate a post to explaining my heart behind this website and give you insight into what “hesed and hearth” is all about.
Hesed
The word hearth I am sure, takes you back to the 1800s when that word was probably more commonly used. Now that we are in the 2000s, I thought I would give a revisit to this antique Victorian noun. A hearth is simply the floor in front of the fireplace. I chose hearth as the second word to constitute the name for two reasons. One, because it stirs up the imagery of people sitting down together in front of a fire, representing the fellowship and community I want to help you create in your own homes and spaces, hence why I have included recipes and fellowship ideas. But not only that, I want to help others gather and sit in conversations, studying the Bible, and growing in awe and likeness in the Lord.
